Classic Fiji, with room to make it your own
Set on Qalito Island in the Mamanuca Islands, Castaway Island Fiji feels like a small village beside the sea.
Its 65 bures sit among gardens and along the shoreline, with hand-painted tapa ceilings, natural timber details and private patios. The setting suits a family beach holiday, a gathering across generations or a relaxed escape for two.

Your own Fijian bure
Traditional thatched roofs and tapa-lined ceilings give the bures their character. Air-conditioning, ceiling fans, a private patio, a shower bathroom, a small refrigerator and tea and coffee facilities bring everyday comfort.
Standard Island, Ocean View and Beach Bures have a king bed and two single beds, with a sliding privacy screen between the sleeping areas. This is a shared bure layout, so tell us if you need fully separate bedrooms.
Island Bure
A garden retreat among tropical plants, within a short walk of the beach, restaurants and activities. These freestanding bures suit travellers who enjoy a leafy setting and a comfortable base for island days.
Ocean View Bure
Set among gardens close to the beach, with ocean glimpses from the patio. North and South Beach options have different positions around the resort. We’ll check the available category and location for your dates.
North & South Beach Bures
Stay close to the sand in a beachfront bure with a sea-facing patio. North Beach Bures and South Beach Bures occupy different stretches of shoreline, with the same traditional style and practical family layout. The photograph shows a North Beach Bure.
A little more space to be together
Family Beach Bure
On the north-facing beachfront, this larger arrangement combines interconnecting beach bures with three sleeping rooms, two bathrooms, two king beds and six single beds. It can accommodate up to ten guests and must be requested and confirmed individually.
Grand Bure
Two spacious bedrooms, large bathrooms, a shared living area and generous verandas make the Grand Bure another option for a family gathering. We’ll confirm the bedding, maximum occupancy and any extra-person charges for your exact dates.
Castaway Five arrangements
Standard bure arrangements include up to four guests. Selected bures can accommodate a fifth person with an additional single bed or cot through the Castaway Five arrangement. Availability is limited and must be confirmed; the fifth-person charge applies at every age, including infants. Tell us the full party size when requesting your quote.
New friends and island adventures
Castaway Kids Club
The complimentary supervised Kids Club welcomes children aged 3–12.
Day and evening sessions can include treasure hunts, sandcastle competitions, Fijian crafts, games and nature activities. The programme changes, so check the week’s plans when you arrive.
Teens and younger children
A separate teen programme offers activities such as snorkelling, beach games and Fijian weaving. Private babysitting can be arranged at an additional cost, including for younger children who are not old enough for Kids Club. Ask us to confirm care requirements and availability before you travel.
Meals and practical details
Children under three receive complimentary meals. Children aged 3–12 have child meal-plan options, and teens aged 13–17 have their own pricing where applicable. Cots and highchairs can be requested, with cot arrangements subject to bure occupancy. Supervised children’s dining is also available.
Find a quieter corner
Two pool areas offer different atmospheres: a family-friendly pool for play and a quieter pool with a jacuzzi and swim-up bar.
The Quiet Zone is intended for a more peaceful experience; follow the resort’s current access and supervision guidance.
For time away from the pool, Vale ni Veibobo, the House of Massage, offers treatments in garden massage bures. Beach and in-bure treatments may also be available. Book ahead and allow for the additional cost.
Couples can enjoy a sunset drink at Sundowner Bar & Grill or reserve an adults-only evening at Restaurant 1808. Castaway Island Fiji welcomes families, so these quieter moments sit within the atmosphere of a lively island resort.
From a wood-fired pizza to dinner on the sand
Water’s Edge is the main restaurant, with an ocean outlook and a mix of buffet and à la carte dining. Sundowner Bar & Grill is known for its wood-fired pizzas and beachside setting, while Nuku Marau Pool Bar and Grill offers casual poolside meals.
Restaurant 1808 serves Fijian-Asian cuisine in an adults-only beach setting on selected evenings. Advance reservations, weather and availability apply, and meal-plan supplements may be charged.

Choose what is included
Meal inclusions depend on your booked package. Options include breakfast, half board with breakfast and dinner, full board with three meals, or an all-inclusive meal plan with a specified beverage selection.
Everyone sharing a bure must take the same meal plan for the full stay. A beverage-package upgrade is available with full board; it covers selected drinks and service times, with premium drinks excluded. Alcohol is served only to guests aged 18 and over.
Restaurant 1808, selected menu items and festive dining may carry supplements. We’ll explain the package inclusions, children’s arrangements and any applicable charges in your quote. A meals-included offer does not automatically include drinks.
Make the most of the island
Complimentary non-motorised watersports include kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, sailing craft and windsurfers. Snorkelling equipment is available with a refundable deposit. Tennis, guided walks and the changing cultural programme give you ways to explore beyond the beach.
Join Fijian crafts or a cultural performance, or ask about the resort’s coral programme and current opportunities to learn about the surrounding reef. Activities are subject to schedules, conditions and suitability.
Water park and adventures
The floating water park adds slides, a swing and other inflatable obstacles to the lagoon. It is a paid activity for guests aged eight and over who are at least 1.1 metres tall. Life jackets are mandatory, and access is subject to conditions and the resort team’s instructions.
Scuba diving, motorised watersports, fishing and island excursions are additional unless specifically included in your package. The dive centre offers courses and guided experiences with age, certification and other participation requirements. We can also help you ask about a trip to Modriki, the island used in the film Cast Away.
From Nadi to your island bure
Fly into Nadi, then transfer by road to Port Denarau for a scheduled South Sea Cruises catamaran to Castaway Island Fiji. The sea journey is commonly around 90 minutes, although the route and intermediate stops affect the timing.
Private water taxis and helicopter transfers offer alternatives. We’ll match the island connection to your flights and confirm luggage allowances, check-in requirements and the latest operating schedule.
Transfers cost extra unless included in your confirmed package. Weather, daylight restrictions for air services, passenger minimums or flight timing can affect the journey. A mainland overnight stay may be needed for some international connections.
Check-in is from 2pm and check-out is by 10am. Early arrival access and late check-out are subject to availability and may attract charges.
A few details worth checking
Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in resort common areas. Laundry and private babysitting are additional services. Ask about any incidental-payment hold and card-payment charges that apply to your booking.
Tell us about mobility or access requirements, including steps, bathroom needs and assistance boarding boats. Ground-level accommodation does not guarantee a step-free route, and we will confirm the individual bure and transfer arrangements with the resort.
Children need adult supervision around the pools, beaches and water. Minimum stays, deposits, cancellation conditions and optional-experience charges depend on your dates and package; these will be set out in your quote.

That depends on your package. Breakfast, half-board, full-board and all-inclusive meal plans are available. Some offers include meals, but drinks and restaurant or festive supplements need to be checked separately.
The complimentary supervised Kids Club is for ages 3–12. A separate programme caters to teens. Private babysitting is an additional service, and younger children’s care should be arranged in advance.
Selected bures can be confirmed for five through the Castaway Five arrangement, with an additional bed or cot. The fifth-person charge applies even when that guest is an infant. Tell us all guests’ ages so we can check availability and bedding.
The Family Beach Bure has three sleeping rooms and space for up to ten guests. The Grand Bure has two bedrooms and larger shared spaces. Both require individual confirmation; we will check the layout, occupancy and charges for your group.
No. Water-park sessions are paid unless expressly included in a booked offer. Guests must be at least eight years old and 1.1 metres tall, wear the supplied life jacket and follow the resort’s conditions of use.
No. The resort welcomes families, couples and groups. Restaurant 1808 is an adults-only dining venue, and the resort has a quieter pool area as well as its family pool.
